Dr. Sudarshan Iyenger

Dr. Iyengar is the recently retired Vice Chancellor, Gujarat Vidyapeeth, Ahmedabad. As former Director, Centre for Social Studies, Surat, Gujarat, he was responsible for administration and development of this prime social science research institutes supported by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi. He also held the position of Director, Gujarat Institute of Development Research (GIDR), Ahmedabad. Dr. Iyengar also worked with NGOs on issues relating to displacement and rehabilitation of the tribal families affected by the Sardar Sarovar Narmada Project, Gujarat.

Aparna Kadikar

Aparna moved to teaching after working for 20 years in the professional field of Architecture. She was based in the USA for 20 years where she had private consultancy for architectural design. She holds her professional degree from Southern California Institute of Architecture, Los Angeles, California. She has B.A in English Literature from Gujarat Uni. Ahmedabad and Diploma in Public Health. Both degrees are highly useful for venturing into the academia. After moving back to India in 1998 and plunging into academic field Aparna has been conducting counseling sessions with parents, teachers and high school students in various cities and rural area addressing different issues concerning education. She is conducting workshops for teachers on teaching English language through activities and inter-active teaching methods.

Dr. Mahendra Chotalia

Dr. Chotaliya is presently holding a position of associate professor at Department of Education, Sardar Patel University, Vallabha Vidyanagar. He is a member of the board of Children’s University, Ambedkar University and Lakulish Yoga University. He is also an advisor and writer for Gujarat State School Textbook Board (GSEB) and National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS). Mr Chotaliya is involved with quality development programs for Schools, Colleges and Universities.

Shraddha Jani

Shraddha Jani is involved in various Educational Activities including Developing and Sustaining interest in English Language, providing training and practice in the skills for English as a language of communication and learning through games, activities and participative initiatives. She is also inspiring students for Developing and Encouraging interest in Reading, Discussion and Developing abilities of Self-expression, Widening their sphere of interest through books, films and games. Shraddha has also worked as Educational Officer of All India Radio (AIR) and as educational officer (WWF), initiating and coordinating environmental activities in schools and camps.

Pankaj Kadikar

While based in USA Pankaj worked in the corporate management sector for an Investment Banking Firm for 20 years. He holds MBA degree majoring in Management and Finance from the University of Texas and B.Com from H.L. college, Gujarat Uni. Ahmedabad. After moving back to India in 1998, in his effort to provide vocational training he helped start a Computer Centre and trained number of students as well as teachers. He was also conducting teachers training for teaching Mathematics for primary level through activities. He undertook many sessions in various schools concerning issues related to adolescent boys. At present Pankaj is providing his services as an administrator at a charitable hospital in nearby Pardi Town, Gujarat.

Jayant Desai

Mr. Jayant Desai was one of the founder trustee and a retired teacher of English language and Geography, from the Fellowship High school, Mumbai, where he taught till 1995. He had done his post graduation, M.A. and a graduate degree, B. Ed., from Mumbai University. He was actively involved with several NGOs that were working in the fields of education, literature, cultural and social causes. Jayant Desai regularly wrote and translated short stories and poems for literary magazines. He was invited by many educational institutes to conducted teacher’s training for teaching English language till he passed away in 2014. His fond memories will always remain with us.
